Preparations for Chrysanthus' Reform
Preparations for Chrysanthus' Reform is an extensive overview of the musical and religious background against which Chrysanthus proposed his reform of church music and its notation system. The Romanian perspective and contributions to Chrysanthus' reform are presented in a way that will be found useful both by scholars and students with concrete references to Romanian manuscripts, particularly to those found in the libraries of Iasi. In that sense this paper is a sequel to the author's previous contribution connected with the inventory, published in a previous issue of Acta Musicae Byzantinae, of those manuscripts of Byzantine music that can be found in the libraries of Iasi institutions.
